Red  performed by King Crimson  1974

Guitars and more guitars. These are the gods of heavy prog rock. Robert Fripp on lead guitars pounds out an unforgettable growling monster of an instrumental. Its atmospheric, dreamy, nightmarish and kind of taunting in places .Its simply great.

from Red, available on CD (Virgin)

22 Dec 04 ·ronin: The entire album is a gem of guitars and pounding beats, much harder overall than, say, "Lizard." "One More Red Nightmare" is another hard out rocker featuring the vocal talents of bassist John Wetton, but I find the most haunting song to be the West Side Story-esque "Fallen Angel."
Come in my mouth  performed by Earl Wilson  1974

"I wanna make you the happiest man alive". This one has to be heard to be believed, taken from a new compilation by "Crippled Dick Records" called "Les Chansons Des Perverts", described as "a collection of dirty gems". Rich, loungy sounding production with lyrics which still would qualify for the "parental advisory:explicit lyrics" label even today.

from Les Chansons Des Perverts, available on CD

from The End (Island IMCD174)

07 Jul 04 ·milhouse-paris: First of all, almost all of Nico's work is pure beauty. She's most famous for her work with or related to the Velvet Underground, including her "chelsea girl" LP. But for me this is quite unfair, because Nico was not just an "egrie", a "frozen beauty" or a "femme fatale" clich. She was a stunning songwriter and singer: Three of her 70's albums (desertshore, marble index and the end)are simply wonderful. Sad and graceful as Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and other songwriters considered geniuses because they were born men...
Blitzkreig Bop  performed by The Ramones  1974

This song is the definitive punk anthem. A two-minute head-banger that is about nothing but fun, fun, fun.
