American Jesus  performed by Bad Religion  1993
Composed by Brett/Graffin

The lyrics to this song, even though they were written years ago still hold up today. Nothing has changed, which is kind of sad. This song hits you hard with it's political message with very little subtlety, but it doesn't need it because the message is so strong and so frustrated. Bad Religion's best work.

from Recipe For Hate (Epitaph)

Lover I Dont Have to Love  performed by Bright Eyes  2002
Composed by Oberst

This song is the perfect song for anybody who is angry with love, or coming off a bad relationship. Connor Oberst is a great lyricist and this song captures that feeling of just wanting somebody, anybody so bad, and not caring who it is.

from Lifted, or the Story is In the Soil, Keep Your Ears to the Groun (Saddle Creek)

Ever Fallen in Love?  performed by The Buzzcocks  1979
Composed by Shelley

This song is awesome. It's like an anti-love song. Everybody, I think, has fallen in love with someone they shouldn't have fallen in love with at some point in their life.

from Singles Going Steady (4 Men With)

White Riot  performed by The Clash  1977

This song is a perfect punk masterpiece. It's short, it's superfast and it's pissed off. It doesn't get much better.

from The Clash (Epic)

Green Eyes  performed by Coldplay  2002
Composed by Berryman/Buckland/Champion/Martin

This song is great. It's delicate, and flowing and just beautiful. Chris Martin's voice is so great and perfect on this track. Coldplay at it's best.

from A Rush of Blood to the Head (Capitol)
